Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Information Architect to support a large-scale intranet transformation initiative focused on improving employee experience, content discoverability, accessibility, and organizational efficiency.

This role will play a critical part in designing and implementing an intuitive, scalable, and user-centered information architecture that enhances how employees access and interact with enterprise content. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with taxonomy development, content strategy, navigation design, metadata management, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business and user needs.

Design and develop information architecture frameworks, including navigation structures, site maps, taxonomies, and metadata schemas.

Create wireframes, navigation models, and content organization structures to guide development efforts.

Ensure content is organized logically to improve findability, usability, and accessibility.

Develop and maintain naming conventions, metadata standards, and governance practices.

Partner with content owners, UX teams, and developers to implement and refine architecture solutions.

Conduct usability testing and incorporate feedback into architecture improvements.

Create and maintain architecture documentation and standards.

Communicate architecture decisions and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams.

Ensure compliance with organizational governance, accessibility, and content management standards.

Support AI-enabled initiatives including automated tagging, content recommendations, and content optimization.


Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Library Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

5+ years of Information Architecture experience.

Proven experience supporting intranet, digital workplace, or enterprise content management initiatives.

Strong understanding of information architecture principles, user-centered design, and content strategy.

Experience creating site maps, taxonomies, wireframes, navigation flows, and metadata structures.

Experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365.

Ability to analyze complex content ecosystems and create intuitive user experiences.

Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience conducting usability testing and applying findings to improve user experience.

Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting enterprise-wide intranet transformation projects.

Experience working within large global organizations.

Familiarity with AI-driven content management and recommendation technologies.

Agile project experience.

Experience working with global cross-functional teams.


Compensation & Benefits:

Pay Rate: $37/hour
